A Tribute to Nestor L. Müller
One of the giants of chest radiology.
This course has been organized to recognize the professional life of Nestor L. Müller and his outstanding dedication to chest imaging. His personal influence extends widely and still remains among us. His manner is quiet but his creativity, intelligence and modesty are outstanding. He has done many contributions to chest radiology (over 400 papers in scientific publications and author of 16 books !).
Nestor Müller’s publications are still fresh and constantly influencing our profession. As a visiting professor, he lectured internationally on chest radiology and radiological education. Nestor has trained more than 50 fellows in pulmonary radiology, who are currently practicing all over the world, many as faculty in academic institutions. Thin-section CT of interstitial lung diseases with pathological correlation has always been one of Dr. Müller’s passions.
Nestor has achieved virtually every honor in radiology. Currently, he is emeritus professor of radiology at University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Barcelona is truly one of the most exciting cities in the world and after his first visit in 1999, it became one of Nestor’s favorite places to visit. There is so much to do in Barcelona with a host of treasures-filled museums, architectural wonders (Romanesque and Gothic monasteries and churches dot the city), lively beaches, enchanting gardens, boulevards, and plazas. Main parts of the city are Barri Gotic, Montjuic, Parc Güell and Sagrada Familia. I hope you find this programme challenging and decide to join us in Barcelona.
